DRUG & ALCOHOL EDUCATION CLASSES

Education is the first step to recovery from drug or alcohol abuse. CAASTLC’s Drug & Alcohol Education classes focus on legal aspects of chemical usage, disease concepts of alcohol and drug abuse, stress management, and the physiological and psychological consequences of drug and alcohol use. Services are free of charge to income eligible residents and on a sliding scale for others.

ANGER MANAGEMENT CLASSES

CAASTLC offers a 12-session Anger Management program modeled after a cognitive behavioral approach designed by the US Department of Health and Human Services. These classes provide personal insight into aggressive behavior and give people tools to implement effective methods of addressing and managing anger. LIFE SKILLS CLASSES

CAASTLC offers classes to help people achieve their potential through education and training.  There are several self-improvement classes for a participant to enroll in including:

  • Energy Conservation
  • Nutrition with Meal Planning
  • Budgeting
  • Home Management and Maintenance
  • Job Readiness
  • Parenting and Child Development
  • Women’s Issues of Abuse
  • Family Literacy and Communication Skills
  • Individual Development Account

 Income Eligibility Requirements – Household income may not exceed 125% of the federal poverty guidelines.
